1939 Gibson ES-150 and amp
Rare, rare, rare.......a 1939 Gibson ES-150 with original Charlie Christian pickup and the matching amp and case that came with it. All in original condition and in working order. You see this guitar once in a while and you see the amp once in a while, but hardly ever together and with the original tweed case as well. The amp has been completely restored with new tubes and a complete overhaul so it is working now better than ever. The guitar has a hand carved spruce top with maple back/rim woods and is mounted with Gibsons bar pickup which plays beautifully and has a classic Charlie Christian sound. There were 252 guitars built in 1939 and by 1940, Gibson was moving on to renovate the model. The model began it's journey in 1936.
It has been played and shows some playwear along with a fairly long rim crack that has been healed. But after 76 years it's little to ask of this venerable blues/jazz duo. Original Geib labelled case as well.
