1947 C.F. Martin 00-18
In all these years of owning many Martins, I've never owned a '47 00-18. A rare thing in it's own right. This example is in excellent condition being all original excluding the tuners with a minor circular patch where there once was a jack plug on the lower bout and otherwise, it's super clean. The neck is really beefy which is nice on a small bodied Martin and we have the long tapered bracing of the "just post-war'" era which gives this guitar the unique voicing that we find at this time. And speaking of voice, it's extremely rich and fat with a tremendous power and clarity along with the harmonics that we find in these war and just post war machines. Hard to describe really, so come along and have a go. It's come to us privately from a lovely family up north who's Dad had been a very keen guitarist so we are very priviledged to own this old gal until it's next voyage.
